🐉 Is this free when it opens up?
Yes, you can play both online and VS AI for free, using “Ethereal” card packs.
🐉 What happens to the packs that I get during Early Access?
Players will keep the number of packs that they acquire during Early Access. (In the event that we need to make balance changes or other changes, your existing packs may be replaced with an equal number of new packs.)
🐉 If I follow, do I still need to go back and sign-up for Early Access or will I get it automatically?
Adding Draconis 8 to your wishlist won’t automatically grant you anything, but it will let you know when Early Access opens. Players who log in to the game during the first 72 hours will automatically get a free digital pack.
🐉 Should I add Draconis 8 to my wishlist even if I am already a backer?
It’s helpful for our existing backers to wishlist Draconis on Steam, but they already have access to the app.
🐉 Can I play without creating an account?
Yes. You can play versus the AI without creating an account. If you want to play online against other players, then you need to create an account.
🐉 Is it important for me to create an account?
Yes, you need an account in order to get your free Early Access card pack. Also, you need an account to play other players online. When you play online you have the opportunity to earn Shards, which can be redeemed for free packs.
🐉 What is Steam Next Fest?
Steam Next Fest is a celebration of upcoming games. It is a week-long program that allows gamers to play free demos of games that have not launched yet. Draconis 8 will be part of this program and there’s a lot of other titles that will be part of NextFest as well. The more people that wish list Draconis 8, the more promotion that Draconis 8 will get to reach other players that play on Steam.
We would love for everyone to wishlist Draconis 8 so that we can grow the player community so that you have more players to play against, something like that.
🐉 What’s the difference between the Next Fest demo and Early Access?
Steam Next Fest is the event that runs from October 13 to October 20. We will have a demo build available during this time that has all of the functionality of the app except in-app purchases.
In the Early Access, you’ll have the additional ability to buy digital packs, to buy and play with digital packs. Each pack is a unique deck.
🐉 How expensive are packs once the Early Access goes live?
You can get free packs by playing and winning games.
We have a starter pack, which you can purchase for $4 or you can buy individual packs for $3 a pack.
🐉 If I play in the game during Next Fest, will I automatically have the early access installed to play?
No. When the early axis launches, you’ll have to download Draconis 8 as a game on Steam.
🐉 What are the formats in the NextFest demo?
There are different formats that you can play in the demo.
1) Play with a single ethereal pack/deck against the AI or an opponent with a single ethereal pack/deck.
2) Play 3 pack Ethereal, where each player gets 3 packs and constructs a single deck from those 3 packs.
3) Play in immersive PVE campaign mode.
